I don't believe you. People actually getting there mowers fixed and serviced over the winter instead of the first day of spring when they bring them out the shed.........

Now I've heard everything.

And were I not able to either service my own mower (or get it done free at work) I'd have mine serviced in winter ready for spring, logical really :)

That sprocket looks knackered, could a loose chain have slipped around it under load and eventually smashed the clutch - it needs replacing!

Just had a look at it, it's done and should there be a bearing in the centre of it? If so it's gone:thumbdown:image.jpg.2da65c3281d4e2c1c14fcd5f4a919333.jpg

Well theres a damn good reason why the clutch went, the chain is adjusted for tension with no needle bearing and when the machine is revved out, the clutch expands and where does all that centrifugal energy go in the clutch.

I guess it may have dissapeared in the carnage of the clutch going in the first place!

Hmmm. I've just noticed on the last pic that there is a promenant score mark on the drum where the needle bearing should be....

Good thought spud.

Ha ethe chain ever been a pain to get adjusted right..?

Not sure if the needle bearing could have come out when the carnage happend. It would be held back by the washer and clip on outside of drum and also but the clutch on the inside.. It would have to have been turned to dust.

I'm with you spud and that's if there was a needle bearing there in the forst place....?
