Getting fed up with anything but perfectly square ended cord skating off of the base plate of my 12ton Balfor splitter so I'm thinking of adding some welded cross hatch to it or maybe a removable plate with some thin bars or spikes or whatever that might give some wet cord a bit of grip and possibly help level things up a bit. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

A few bit's of fairly thin Rebar perhaps?

Won't stick in too much because they're round and plenty of bite on them?

Grind them back off if it's not working out?

Eddie.

Any pics ?

Didn't think to but this one off the riko site shows it all,the base plate is smooth with some pretty useless "bumps" to lift the log clear of chips.
