dont think I will go with the burning as there is now a lot of soot on top of the brush. Think I;m gonna have to go in through the side prob need a new liner now but how u get the old one out is another matter

Failing that, build a time machine, nip back to Victorian England and Bob's your uncle. :biggrin:

I'd go careful with that. People can be rather paranoid in the post Saville climate and explaining to a concerned parent that you were measuring up their child to see if they are small enough to fit might not go down too well. :scared1::biggrin:

Not sure if anyone has suggested this but you might want to give a ring to a chimney sweep as I am sure this must have happened to them in the past. Make sure you tell him that it is the last time you do it yourself and that you are going to get a professional in to do the job in future otherwise he might be a bit put out.
