I'm not sure who owns it but it's just up from mine. You do get dog walkers through there, the tracks are pretty well worn. The wood doesn't appear to have been managed in a while as there's widow makers and failed trees a plenty.

 

It will be interesting to see how long she remains.

Inspecting a Cappadocian maple today and literally stood on top of a nice wee group of Sarcoscypha sp, either S. coccinea - scarlet elf cup, or possibly S. austriaca, which apparantly is the more common of the two species.

Had to call a fiend with this one as I couldn't key it out with any of my books

 

Lentinula edodes - Shiitake

 

Not native to the UK, so the holes in the oak substrate (which I originally had thought were insect holes) probably had inoculated dowl plugs.

 

Possibly dumped on to the Heath by someone who didn't get a 'crop ' back in their garden.
