Received an email from barony college today, telling me interviews will be conducted shortly. They never said what course for :001_huh: having I looked at there website and I'm not sure what course offers the most for me. None of the courses mention tickets or qualifications.

Soo.... Help

Forestry and Arboriculture Barony College has anyone done any of the full time courses that this college offers and can tell me what they involve and qualifications i can expect. The college told me to contact the course tutor but again this is not mentioned on the website.

I don't have a clue, the website doesn't give much info so will need to look into them all further before I apply for anything. Also I need to look into part time work near the college because I will need to stay there because it's to far to commute everyday.

Thing I forgot to mention about an apprenticeship is that at the end of it you'll have experience as well as qualies so the Apprentice position should become a full time job.

Doing a regular college course means you come out of college with qualies and no experience so no one will employ you.

Typically, college leavers think they are worth more than they are because the college has filled their head with the dream. Therefore they ask for a climbers job and too much money and get nothing.

Good advice OMT that would be my preferred option but trying to get all the pieces to fit together is the tricky bit now.

Yes that is the hard bit. The hardest element is getting a prospective employee to understand the benefits of having an Apprentice and you probably have about 15 seconds to convince him before he puts the phone down.

By the way, your best selling point there may be to point out that it's very easy to get rid of an Apprentice if he's no good. Most employers are fearful of taking on someone who turns out to be an idiot and a liability then be stuck with them.

I don't think they'll have that problem with you though :thumbup1:

Shame you're not down here, I'd take you on the scheme right now based on what we've all seen of you on your thread.
