were you aware that Cassiobury Park (next door) has or had one of the uk champion American Oak species?

 

I seem to recall reading it in the Collins Field Guide to the Trees of Britain and Northern Europe by Alan Mitchell some years ago

i may have to do even more research i know there are a fair few large trees in the park.

 

im planning on showing everyone the two sweet chesnuts in the woods as they are something to look at.

I'm on it give us dates in advance got some full on re-pollarding at the mo so gona hold the Epping reccy till I'm back to ward pruning so start of feb should be ok with me!
