Hi there,

first post here, and i was wondering if any of you can ID these logs for me, as i was given them for firewood, and i just want to make sure i season them properly.

I was thinking along the lines of horse chestnut (i'll now wait to be smacked down with my lack of knowledge :blushing:)

thanks in advance

pete

cheers for that, i'm a complete novice when it comes to knowing my trees. I'm just getting into it due to having an open fire and the requirement for firewood. which in the coventry area is very difficult, as it seems everywhere near me sells logs by the m3/split.

i need to find somewhere nearby that sells larger logs or branches, that i can saw down and split myself (more as a hobby than anything else, but may save a few quid in the process :-)

thanks again

pete
