I have just had a phone call from a friend telling me of another oak! Not sure of the species but apparently it has a 6' diameter base?.. And is over 100'....we will see.

Some pics of the oldest tree in bedfordshire having some new props put up.

 

Awesome share mate! Thanks for that one.

 

Were you replacing old props or installing new ones? Did you follow any kind of formula towards positioning? The propped chestnut we looked at a few weeks ago had some failures, the most interesting of which, i thought, was one about 1ft after the prop.

So just been speaking to Emma Ellis at belvoir castle via email and she is very interested in what we are doing, I asked her a couple days ago if it would be possible to look around the grounds to see if anything was worth documenting! Everything seems promising so far! Just waiting on comfamation.
