French/Spanish storms

looks to have been quite nasty several people killed by falling trees/branches I didnt hear about this till today, i notice that in one of the pics its the fire service messing about by one of the trees, so i was wondering in other Euro countries do the emergancy services carry out emergancy tree work? or in the UK for than matter, if a big tree comes over on a car (and i can appreciate that speed is essential for them!) do they have a trained operator or do they have to wait for one to get to site?

A friend of mine trains fireman in chainsaw use I believe.

you would think some of the firemen/women would be trained to use a chainsaw in life saving curcumstances until someone else can get in and clear up the mess once they have done what they needed to do.

Leicestershire Fire & Rescue have quite a few trained in CS units its not uncommon to see them in the local Arb supplier!
