Tirfor Winch

I have just acquired myself a Tirfor T516 winch (rated at 1600kg) but it has no handle. Can anyone tell me how long the handle should be so I can make one!

Tirfor hanles are usually telescopic, id say 2-3ft long

your better off buying one ! the handle normally extends and has more than one use , the end has a flair on it with a recess so that it locks in and needs to be a certain inner diameter so that ti has a snug fit and can operate the winch in and winch out lever

Not sure if this helps but we used tirfors quite a bit in the fire service and the handles were two piece (telescopic/sliding) tubular aluminium that were 18 inches at the shortest and extending to 3 feet max

I just use a piece of pipe about 3'6" long works fine, just has to have the right internal dimensions to fit tirfor

I've forgotten the handle on a couple of occasions, can usually find something to suffice

GRCS ratchet handle works for me.

yeah dont buy a handle, way over priced. just get a bit of tubing from the scrapy.
