Stihl ms461

Evening all,

After deliberating about a 460 or a 441vm (heated handles) and pondering my way around the low vibes and heated handle of the 441 vs. balls of the 460, I found myself looking at the 461 v on us stihl.com and think this could be the answer.

Can anyone tell me if its available in the uk yet, and anyone used one?

StihlUS do it with upto a 32" bar which seems big, but i figure it should pull a 25" as well as the old 460, and possibly an occasional 30" if needed.

The MS461 is in the 2013 catalogue and should be out in UK before end of March 2013, at the very latest. They are out in France already though. I'd wait and get one as they're just an updated version of the well proven 460 just with more power and lower vibe levels and they only weigh a tad more than the 441

Power spec same as 460 :confused1::confused1::confused1:

Chap,

Do you have enough work to warrant the expense?

We are full time team and our bread and butter saws are the tophandles and 260/261 with a 40/45cm bars, t

The 441 with a 62cm bar is only used a couple of times a week for less than an hour each time. The 080...One or twice a month and that we borrow from a mate.

The number of trees we get that can't be cut using a split level cut and a 45cm bar are few.

Would heated handles really be of use in a mild Normandy winter...?

I imagine if you where felling big specimens all day perhaps.

Oh...I get it...your having a fantasy shopping after surfing the internet after being rained off for the day...silly me!:001_tt2:

All the best, Ty

Its the heated handle and low vibes that attract me, I would get the 460 in a heartbeat, but tingle fingers caused me to think about the 441. I dont want autotune, there are no reliable workshops in this area that would understand computermijiggers!

get the 576 xpg then,,, g meaning heated handles :)
