Here is a pretty basic oak framed pool house that I'm currently constructing.

The top end of the rafters are sited onto and existing plate which can't been seen in the above photo, with both ends secured with 150mm stainless coach screws. I have also added a secondary support under the top ends of the rafters, which is also screwed in place.

The rafters look a bit odd/thin at the lower end, as I have had to mirror an existing rafter pattern used on the existing garage.
