TreeMotion bridge

This very may well have been done to death, but wanted to pick folks brains on any bridge mods.

I've never really got on with floating attachment points (I wonder how many folks are gonna ask why the hell I bought a TreeMotion then), so was thinking of cinching a thimbled loop at the centrepoint of the bridge to create a fixed eye attachment point.

Any one ever done this? Any thoughts?

I did wonder this when I first got a treemotion. I had a willans t22 (I think) before that.

.

I'm in EXACTLY the same boat! 15 years in a T22, and after 5 years off the tools and wanting to get back into it, the TreeMotion seemed like a good idea! Lol.

I did think of an alpine butterfly, but I don't fancy having the krab attached directly to the bridge at the same constant point. Ok, it'll probably take a while, but I can see it becoming a wear point - hence the thimbled strop, so the thimble then takes the movement of the krab and doesn't risk eating through the bridge.

Or at least that's what seems a good idea in my head.

Try just shortening the bridge

I've mine set about an inch longer than the distance between the 2 D rings, didn't like it so much when it was 'factory spec'. The bridges are designed to be replaceable and by the time the ring has worn the main length the area at the stoppers will be sarting to get a bit tired.

You would need a long cord as once the alpine butterfly was in the bridge would be too short I would think. Should work though mate

Yep that's a good point.

I did shorten my bridge as soon as I got it but didn't cut the end off incase I changed my mind. Absolutely yonks later I still haven't chopped it off.

Just try it and you prob won't go back.

Yeah, I guess just adjusting the lower side D's and shortening the bridge would take out a lot of the movement. Good point there.

Tom, you're biased! Lol. You just want the OV thimbled loop if I'm not gonna use it! Lol. :o)
