here we go adam, buy the best :thumbup1:

Just made it harder for myself really sticking up this thread everyone has got mixed reviews or everyone has had bad experience with one or the other?

I do favour the Stanley a lot more, but now seeing the challenger and having read quite a great review on a couple of websites it really does sound appealing :001_rolleyes::biggrin:

Get the Stanley if you want the handle to keep coming off mid-pour. Get the other one if you want it to fall to bits in the van. Get a kelly kettle or a jetboil if you want a proper brew. Be lucky

That's the thing though I don't need or want either the Kelly kettle or a jetboil mate, its just a good solid flask I'm after :001_smile:

I've bought several flasks in time, lately I'm really fed up with the lack of quality that any of them seem to have. Few manage to retain heat for any length of time, sort of the main purpose of them. So I use a Kelly kettle or a JetBoil at work now, hot water every time, no disappointing Luke warm tepid yucky cuppas anymore.

I am also looking for a new flask after my missus destroyed my fav one with some herbal teas that tainted it and then she used it for curry lol but to be fair it is the v fat thermos food/beverage flask.

I have joined in on the research now after reading this thread :D and I just found what I consider to be a cracking good tip !

I have 31 year old Stanley Thermos. One dented up green one and a full just stainless no paint. Once they lose the vacuum due to shock, dents etc. they are will no longer hold the heat properly.

If you drill a little hole on the top (1/16'') and a 3/8'' hole on the bottom opposite the top hole, (top hole on the left and bottom hole on the right).

Get a can of foam insulation, fill from the bottom hole until it comes out continuous on top. Then when you use hot kitchen faucet water and preheat it before pouring in the coffee or whatever liquid, it will hold the heat for at least 3 days. Mine do in very cold conditions.

Oh, use some silicone or Dap shower chalk to seal the holes after the insulation sets to prevent water or moisture from getting in there. It's a cheaper fix and less frustrating than buying a Thermos every few years. I did this with an old plastic thermos also but must have fill it too much because it split on the seam after a few uses. Uses= drops and rattling around in a bucket.

Good luck

Just wanted to share that with you all.

 here here! And not just flasks but for everything that is made these days seems to be a shadow of what used to be made. It is only getting worse as well.

My coffee brewing is still awesome though :001_tt2:
