They come under a few names but Trail cam sort of covers it, I was thinking of getting one to put in a wood and see what is coming to feed.

Alternatively you could use them as a security cam in your yard or wherever, some use a black light flash others infra red which is similar but a faint red glow but giving more range in teh dark down side is the red glow maybe seen:sneaky2:

Has anyone got one, used one, thinking of one for xmas:confused1:

over to you :001_smile:

Cameras are the weapons to use against criminals. The problem is locating them where they pick up the most details, ie number plates, faces, without being at a level where they can be damaged, and where they can be concealed satisfactorily.

Thieves are very switched on to this, certainly career criminals. If you have a security system in place I'd be wary of putting about too much info on the Internet.

Why wont the police use the footage?I was watching a programm recently and some bloke was using a cyclist helmet camera on the road and somebody attacked the cyclist from a car but the police could not find the bloke due to car bening registered to a different person so he set the footage up on you tube or somthing and it went viral and the bloke turned hiself in to the police because somebody had recognised him in his street he lived in if I caught anyone stealing from us again and the police wouldnt help I would do the same I think really annoys me how people can just take what doesnt belong to them !

Thats a shame the police take that attitude theft is theft at the end of the day im not quiet sure how I would react if I caught somebody stealing my property especially after we were broken into last year.Btw

When we moved in I put a few around the workshop. Ones in a birdhouse at the top of a tree. Good luck removing that :sneaky2:
I thought I would mention you better watch those birds if its in a bird box I have sited a bushnell before now to watch our fox that visits our garden and had a blue tit come along decided to leave a nice blob of somthing on the actual lense and blurred the whole shot!not sure if it was the same bird but it happened a few times all by blue tits landing on the front must of been attracted by the shiny reflection or somthing I didnt realize it had been done until I checked the footage and seen it land in front of the camera then couldnt see a thing lol!
