How much for a van of timber

If you read my first post you will see that I said I didn’t have the answer to his question. The OP now has his answer from yourself and others.

I calculated the value as firewood so he can say that one load unsplit and unseasoned for £100 is equal to a split and seasoned value of (£2800/4 loads) £700.

I just wondered if my calculation was reasonably accurate. I think that it’s useful information as it helps all parties to have a gauge of whether it’s a good deal or not.

I wernt meaning you al, I was aiming at those saying its only worth 40 quid :)

Round here (Warwick) there's a guy who does a Transit load of rings, hardwood and mainly green, for £75 delivered. He claims it is three and a half cube.

Since I'm one of those people that's not an arb pro and no longer have my own source of wood, but would quite happily split, stack and season it myself, I'd count myself as being similar to the OP's customer.

I was just saying that is all it is worth because that is all it is worth. If Joe Bloggs down the road wants to bust his nuts with a saw and an axe to save a few quid i'm not quibbling but still can't see even to him why it would be worth so much. Ok, ok so he loves swinging an axe in the evening or all day on a Saturday but still only worth........£40 for a good full load:lol:!!
