You are indeed thinking of the Cis tax card Rupe, what waste of time that was applying for. They gave me a temp card, then phased the damned thing out once i had it.Typical beurocratic crap. The Cscs is also a waste of time imo, one of our team, (Steves mate:001_tongue:) failed it and had to re-sit it!! And we all had to wait in the trucks for him to pass, lol

TEXT FROM CSCS email :scared1:

Good Afternoon

All of our occupations related to trees are CRO’s and do not require any qualifications. Please see are website http://www.cscs.uk.com

To apply for a CSCS card we have a service called Skills Direct which is a simpler, faster way of getting your CSCS card. The cost is £41.97 payable by credit/debit card only (Skills Direct do not accept American Express).

The fee includes the cost of a Health & Safety Test and the CSCS Card Application; this will be completed at the centre with your photograph also being taken at the centre. Once we receive your fully completed application form you will receive your card within 7 – 10 days. To book this up you will need to contact 0870 850 5262.

this I have forwarded to NPtc

Thanks Iain, does that mean that to do tree work on the site you do not need the card? or that the Nptc's are equivalent / higher qual but you stil need to go through the process of applying?

cheers,

Rich.

It means they want £41 off you but they know nothing about the arb industry, and as long as they keep getting money for doing nothing they dont care.

That`s about right. It shares the same file as the waste carrying license.

CIS is for construction workers that can`t be trusted to pay their taxes. Everyone else, it seems, can be.
