Anyone still got a 020 that you could remove the baffle.

 

Wern't they the US versions where you could remove the spark arrestor? Never heard of removing the baffle.

If the IPL is correct the 020 and 200T lists two baffle plates .A 6 hole version sold in Canada US and Aus. .The other plate most likely what is sold in GB has 5 holes .As far as I know they are all removable unless a special muffler is used in GB I'm not aware of .Anything is possible I guess .

on the old 020 you could slide out the baffle with an allen key. bags more poke, very noisy though.

It's all in the terminoligy .While the baffles do indeed hold a series of screened holes which act as spark arresters they do indeed act as baffles.

 

You probabley gain 35 more percent of open muffler area by removing same as well as an additional port to discharge the exhaust .They get louder but if you use ear protection not that bad .

 

We on this side of the pond unless there are noise ordances in some cities or cutting on US Forest service lands are not under any edicts barring us from modifying our saws .Dealers are governed under franchise agreements but private owners are not .Besides if we were most of us would ignore it anyway .:biggrin:
