Generally at the airport! ahahah, well if you want to do the same sort of trip its best to fly into San francisco international airport and go from there. at Kings canyon they have wooden lodges or a rooms in a building you can stay in. from there you can either walk or drive to General Grant, General sherman and and the boole tree. there's loads to see there. as well as numerous trecks you can walk i. a day. at muir woods there is John Muir woods to walk through, lots of walks, a old old lighthouse which is kinda cool. and it's only an hour away fron San francisco so you can go there for a day if you wanted to. in Humboldt it' s mostly old growth forests that you can walk through with numerous visitor centers. there is also the lost coast which is A-mazing, you can go rock pooling od watch the seals. there is also the black sand beaches to visit. you can also treck there with a walk that can take hope this helps. x you anything from half a day to three days with places to camp. it is deffinatly worth a visit. oh and san francisco is good. you can hire bikes and cycle across the golden gate bridge and then get the ferry back and see alcatraz at night which is good as it's all lit up, but that takes the best part of the day.
