Do you really think those guys need advice on what they are doing????????

 

I use strops, but TBH its mainly because chains are not good to handle in our cold climate, if I lived in a warm country I may well use them more.

 

I have seen strops slip, surly its about test pulling before the cut, to check the strop or chain is secure, thats what I do :001_smile:

 

Not at all proper tree work made to look easy!

 

A chain is a lot more likely to slip than a strop especially on a single loop just putting my two pence worth in .

 

Its what happens when the piece is been landed if it touches the deck with a single loop it will move double wrap with a bite safe strop even safer.:001_smile:
