Im looking at getting a smaller ground saw because a 441 is to big for must snedding and the likes. I would like to to see which people prefer. oh and ive never used a 341 but hear nothin but good things.

if one has the cash get ones self ms361 /15" bar we use them ,:001_smile: less vibes as you will be using this saw more often

Hi Jonny

I have been fortunate to use many saws, stihl for reliabilty is the best in my opinion. If you have the money for a 341 then buy one. Brilliant saw have used them alot. Ultra reliable and great power to weight ratio. Put a 15inch bar and its perfectly balanced. The 260 also a great saw a bit cheaper but not quite in the same league as the 341 i wouldn t want to put anything larger than 13 inch bar if it was mine. If a 15s what you want consider the 290.

Another make to look at and not laugh at is Makita. This is what my company now uses and everyone is supprised how good they are. They do the dcs5000(costs £300-£350) which come with a 18inch bar and cuts quicker and smoother than a 341 fitted with a 15inch bar. Although the makita s are basicaly a re badged dolmar with a few tweaks and a touch of paint i am not to sure how longer life they will have compared to the stihl ones. Depends how you treat your saws to how long they last. Its all a personal thing but good luck on your choice.
