REC Climb Epping Forest: First dry winter weekend old growth beeches!

I had a good little play today didn't really focus too much on the top of tree just 3/4 downwards also a string of long jumps and swings (in Tom bs sillouette photo to my left and behind me is loads of chunky scaffold limbs) nice huge tree to swing around in...

 

There is a few of these trees here all waiting to be explored, I've only climbed this one out of the biggies

 

Would prefer better weather as it was a .... twitcher at times but stay pretty dry looking forward to next one

 

With hopefully better weather and Few more people

 

But nonetheless

one thing i did notice is i found the RW works better if set all to one crab not 2 crabs.

Do you use ultra o's Ian? I find it tricky to get everything squeezed onto one crab

i love beech woodlands,,,great trees to climb...if i didn,t like my teufelberger pulley saver i would opt for a cocoon...spring will bring many reccy climbs i reckon...nice pics Tommy B

Yeah, it is a bit of a squeeze but the tether length its much better at that height.

Try and get hold of a Dmm klieterzeig it has a massive top to it should be able to jam it all on.

Yer it was mate, The weather will encourage some more people and the longer days when clocks change should have the 'Monthly Epping Rec Climb Saturdays' fully rolling! Lol the above is terribly cheesy name I just thought of but.. If you See any MERCS threads then check them out as I'll be posting on there for upcoming dates.

 

Tommy b I think your trying to clip to much on those carrabiners lool stop it! Keep It Simple Stupid it's the best way.

SRT can be complicated why try make it harder, it's just you like gadgets I guess loool
