Whole Tree Chippers

Still interesting, across the water every man and his dog has one. These are not cheap and I guess you need good contracts for such an investment, mind we are a few years behind here.

The first time I heard the term " whole tree chipper" I was angered. Not really changed my mind since then. Plenty of waste wood going to landfill for biomass, precious few trees in the UK, what a waste to chip them after the investment of growing and managing.

how much to hire something like that for a day with operator and crane loading?just out of interest as got a job i started today and that would of been just the job

we rented a beast (hammer mill) last year 1k a day money well spent,loaded with swinger (13 ton)with 360 sorting grab £38 a hour

i`ll be sticking to the towable at that price,you must have had some timber to afford to rent that beast

A Beast is approx £1500-£1800 per day complete with loader & operator, diesel etc. bit cheaper for longer term hire.

we were hiring a valtra t160 with a roof mount crane and a 32 inch hiezo hack for a fair price a day.. but by heck can you nock out some work with one.. we had 3 tractors hauling chip away from it and kept us rushed of our feet all day.. my 5 ton grain trailer was filled within 5 minits if he was right on the material
