What a pilot!

After a 'double bird strike' this guy saves the lives of all passengers and crew by landing in the Hudson river, New York.

 

No engines and evidently no panic he guides his passengers onto the wings of the plane to await rescue.

Not only did he walk the plane twice to ensure everyone was out, it was waist deep in icy water too! Such a selfless act from a true professional, skilled judgement from strike to evacuation, I take my hat off to him and the crew.

I heard on th Radio 4 news that he gave the shirt off his back to a passenger that was cold!
