Green, bolts sticking out................ Its Frankenstein! run, save yourselves!!!!

Can you not hire a chipper, I know not everyone likes to buy things on tick, myself included, and at least you would have something that is safe and reliable. I dread to think of some poor person getting hurt by this kind of thing, or stung in the wallet for a bargain!

Yeah they are, wish I could afford a chinese one. The ones on ebay look like they are really well made! Not at all a cheap lash up. Yee haa

Should give your literally minutes of quality chipping power.

I particularly like the half assed bolt on the right which doesn't even look like its been done up right- what a complete joke. give me a pencil sharpener anyday-100% more longevity and reliability!

Yet you would buy a piece of junk??

i agree chipper will pay itself in a relatively short period however the point i was trying to make is that they could be a wee bit cheaper[ entry level 4 inch ] because they are not a desperately complicated piece of machinery. It would be wise to understand that not all but many chinese manufacturers will turn out as good if not better eventually. I was merely seeking some opinion from someone who had possibly purchased similar

I suppose one way you could find out how much it would cost to make a chipper is to build your own. I mean it can't be th hard, an engine, a drum with some sharp bits on it, and a discharge chute, how hard can it be? Having built your prototype, now get it patented, CE approved, then set up your production line. Now employ quality fabricators to build them up. Where you going to base your new business, UK? Labour costs will kill your business. Many have tried to do exactly the same thing, people with experience of the industry, few are still around.

Once you've built your Market beating chipper, how are you going to price it? Dirt cheap, or on a par with your competitors? Why should you earn less than say Greenmech, you've made the investment, you should make the profit.

Shaving costs, cutting quality, and quality control, the machine will last less time, be unreliable, and you will go out of business. Buy cheap, buy twice.

That`s scary!

What? The business plan or the arm mincer? :laugh1:

Ty

Buy a CS100, keep it clean, serviced and it will pay you back in no time at all and then when you've out grown it you'll probally keep it as a pet.

The image attached is of a decent sized cedar which went through our CS100 just before we bought our Quadchip using the funds the CS100 earned us.

Don't be a mug, if your chinese potato processor goes kipper bang twang just who are you going to call...?

Later...
