    Husky 550XP

Due to circumstances beyond my control,i have been unable to respond , however without reverting to a duel to the death, you could be right and you could be wrong.Husky did market the 365 as an xp in some markets i believe, but then i am probably wrong as is often the case,
  3. Chestnut, would be my least favourite to burn,Alder grows in boggy ground and is very high in water content, great when dry.Quickest way to dry wood is to take the bark of when freshly cut and leave uncovered outside,or in a building that only has aroof
  4. Synthetic, provided the rope does not contact anything that will cause the rope to chaff.

I am not really concerned about the designation of the 365XP, but it does exist, and i have one, it has done a lot of work, and i mean a lot, so the chinese fakes cant be to bad lol

  11. Buy british,i agree if it had been 30 years ago, when made in britain was made in britain, but the <managers>failed to look to the future, could not compete with overseas competition,so the politicians carved it up and sold it off.I run a defender Td5 and a Ford ranger neither are British

Looks like i wont be buying
  13. They all burn, douglas fir, scots pine, european larch/jap, closed fire/stove,intense heat produced by most dry softwood, sitka spruce, does not last long, look at the growth rings, closer together the better the burn and length of burn,i:e Highland grown european larch/scots pine could be described as [hardwood] colder the climate, the denser the wood.every different species of timber has specific burning qualities. It is always good to remember that when we sit round the campfire we exchange the energy that the sun gave the tree, that gave us the wood, that warms our bodies

  17. i agree my sanity was in doubt ,would not chip anything bigger than 2/3 inches as i have a firewood buisness
  18. the whole country is ranged against me so i have done the honorable thing and deserted any notion of the dreaded chinese chippie.Wallenstien 24hp is now in my mind. any thoughts.
  19. dense timber, great firewood for own use , poisonous tree loved by wood turners dont worry to much about smell of the smoke ,burning changes chemical composition,, as with all fuel,no confined space, carbon monoxide alarm in place. post my opinion not set in stone
  20. ash and birch burn them green or burn them old. keep your chimney/flue clean ,1 cm seasoned beech at 60 pounds delivered and stacked ridiculosly cheap, time for reality
  21. i agree chipper will pay itself in a relatively short period however the point i was trying to make is that they could be a wee bit cheaper[ entry level 4 inch ] because they are not a desperately complicated piece of machinery. It would be wise to understand that not all but many chinese manufacturers will turn out as good if not better eventually. I was merely seeking some opinion from someone who had possibly purchased similar
  22. greenmech cs100 to expensive for what it is indeed most chippers overpriced
  23. burn it green or burn it old its worth its weight in gold axman
