Decent harness makes, Komet, Petzl, Edelrid, Austria. Actually you cant really go wrong, all the harnesses on the market at the moment are ok, but make sure you try one on first. If its being sold by a reputable dealer and it feels comfy when you sit in it, it will do the job. Might be worth a trip up to FR Jones and Son.

A 45 metre rope will do, later on you might want a shorter one, or you might accidentally end up with two shorter ones from your 45! A longer rope will do for bigger trees, but a shorter rope isnt much good for big ones.

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place.  If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom,  then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.
