Looking at starting to replace some saws. So what should they be?

Looking at replacing a stihl 048av. But with what. Not interested in a stihl/husky debate :001_rolleyes:

But either would be ok. Need the same power and size!

One for climbing and section down aswell. At he moment it's a 034 with think its a 24 inch bar but without measuring I don't know. This would also need something else.

Plus the top handle...... Using the good old 200t at the mo but will need new soon. Thinking about the new husky but with no views on it thought about the older ones?

Keeping the 088 running as is fantastic expet for getting up a tree, too heavy aparantly?:001_tt2:

So what is lighter but can still deliver the power/bar size for big stuff???

Christmas list 036 really miss that saw!

Tough day mate

Tough week mate. Think hiedi forgot who I was :lol:

13 hour days. My legs don't work anymore, and my brain stopped working 3 days ago.:lol:

Shame the 036 has been cannabalised or I would be getting a meteor piston kit for it.

Just bought a 201 was told its the latest ones that has had problems ironed out. Had it 10 days and its had some hammer in that time just as good as a 200, chain brake handle does seem a bit flimsy. As for bigger saws we use 362 460 and a 560xp the 560 has best power to weight ratio. Right i must get these planning apps sorted.

I'd agree with Miker on the 048 replacement. 460 appears to be pretty well regarded and will give you a bit more without being over the top. Since you have the 088 the 660 doesn't give you much so the step down to the 460 is probably more useful. Can't comment on Husky equivalents - nothing against them, just don't have any for historical reasons.
