Do you charge by the hour?????

in all honesty it depends on the job and on the client , i will happily charge by the job/day/hour/volume/or if needed long term fixed price structure . all depends on what the job is and what the most cost effective outcome can be for the customer . for instance i quoted to take down a stand of roadside trees today which included chipping the brushwood and delivering to their compound and then felling the timber and delivering to the compound i gave a price for the job as a whole and the client decided that they would fell the trees into the car park and all i had to do was chip the brushwood and deliver to their compound , i then gave them an hourly cost for chipping as the duration of the job and the amount of trimming out etc would depend on how they felled the trees etc .

For me to chip what others have cut is alway more expensive than me cutting and chipping, but thats just me :001_smile: each too their own :001_smile:

yeah i could not agree more hence the hourly rate  i would prefer to watch them chip the lot with a 6 inch chipper rather than do if for them but hey ho as the saying goes "penny wise pound foolish":sneaky2:

But surely by offering an hourly rate, rather than fixed price, they are not aware that they are going to be paying more for less until you have finished?:confused1:
