I remember watching this & it raising some questions in me. It mite do the same for you & give you some fuel for your project.

You could look into what timber sp are being imported and used by the joinery trade which could be grown here. a lot of guys around here use things like Tulipwood, american white ash and american white oak. could these be viable crops here their is a ready made market?
