We do hedges too and we chip nearly all the waste, sometimes, especialy with big laurel reductions we chip it back into the hedgeline, nice and tidy and no rubbish off-site..... but to save the chipper blades, get yourself a few tarps, lay these along the ground at the side of the hedge and drop all clippings onto it.... then you can jsut drag/carry the tarp to the chipper and scoop the clippings into it... no stone, no raking and (especialy with conifer) no mess.:thumbup1:

I can never be arsed putting tarps down, I just take and bag and burn.:)

Removing waste to burn off site is a big no no mate. 

Why's that then? I ain't chipping it as there are stones and stuff in it, a lot of the hedges I do putting tarps down is too much hassle so bag and burn is easy especially as I have a nice big fire pile:(

Always done hedges and trees all part of the same thing I thought:confused1: . Hedges can be quite a challenge at times but I find they help break up the working week and pay well like tree pruning . Here is one I did tools include combi hedge cutter 4 bulk bags and 2 tarps and step ladders:001_smile:

I do a lot of hedges find it good money best thing most people book you in for the next trim when you are there. So no looking at jobs all the time.

I use a cut down ladder stayoff attached the a board to stop falling through the hedge. And tie the bottom in or have spikes on the bottom of the ladder to stop it kicking out.

My new Echo HC 341-ES arrived today bit of a beast but will work great with the easy-lift harness.
