whats alder like for burning.. i got about half a mile of riverbank to clear, and being that everyone is asking me for logs i thought i would ask on the forum before i start promising people logs that may be potentiosly rubbish as firewood. cheers andy..

 

just off the phone to a lad who wants timber, i have some alder and he is coming for it 2moro. must be ok:001_smile:

hope the job is easier than many of my riverbank tree jobs, i have had some unpredictable alders recently that look fine and are rotten :scared1:

 

half a mile? i hope its not to heavily wooded been to look at 25 trees today for a job and recon its about 2-3days work, i hate having to try and fell stuff above head hight whilst working in the river

 

not a bad firewood if well seasoned

Ha they wont need chipping unless you bringing your swimming trunks to fetch them back out :001_tt1: this is river conservation at the sharp end felling them into the channel for fisheries improvement (a complete 180 from about 5years ago)

 

although i may have something you might be interested in (top secret) will have a chat with the relevent people, some other habitat improvement works, defo will have to meet up for a beer and chat about mogs
