Semi-synths perform better than a mineral in a 2-stroke application due to the fact they don't lubricate for very long! Full synth, well what is full synthetic? Sure it aint dino oil but is it a group 1 or 5 basestock?! Mineral cracked vs poly-ol-ester, with pao in between. If you want the ultimate poe, Redline Kart Oil is the kiddy. Some of the upper Silko sits just below this level, all high end. Check the JASO...

I have always used husqvarna's xp synthetic oil, i have been told its better at lubricating the bearings and engine better and keeps engine temp down a little more, than a standard mineral based oil.. and i haven't had any saw problems ever!! with regards to it seizing.. i think it's more down to percentages in my opinion.. i run them all at 40-1 hope this helps.. Many years ago, too many to even think about and spoil the weekend reminiscing.

I was sponsored by Century oils, they did a good two stroke oil with a very red dye. All I ever seen it in was a gallon can dropped off at my door whenever I was running out. My Husqvarna enduro bike was run at 40:1 and never ever had any trouble with it, I used it at 50:1 in all my saws too at the time, same results all worked perfect under al conditions.

Havent seen Century around for years but maybe they are still out there, may even be under another brand?

ps; the red dye you couldnt miss & it smelt good so probably synthetic or semi??
