That layer on the ash is wicked and the Phoenix growth looks like its doing well. Some great pictures

 

A pair of very special trees those two ash.

 

 

The only ones on the site, and hidden away from any public access, was a privilege to have got up close & personal.

Lot of talk today from the estate management & the group about what to do with the over grown hornbeam pollards.

 

The Oaks are pretty much left to their own devices but now being mulched & fenced.

Ah I see I think every tree should be left but I understand once they are managed you need to carry on managing them. What would you do on the hornbeams, selective poll thin?
