I was yesterday. Out and in. I needed to get some helm time for assessment coming up. Perfect opportunity.

I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be in control of something like that.....Awesome is the only word I reckon......

Relised I have loads of pics of the outside of the boat but non of the inside. So took some with the iPad today. First up is the wheelhouse. On the left is the helmsman seat, then the coxswain s seat, the to the right is the navigator seat.

Next up is the survivors cabin. Its below deck under the wheelhouse. Can take 80 passengers down here, very cramped and not had to do it yet.

And finally the important part. The engine room. Two Mercedes mtu v10 twin turbo engines. On idle these engines will only work 5 cylinders, the other five get fuel cut to them, saves a lot of fuel. Both engines run out at 1000 hp.

Very good. Not on this boat its not,

 

Normally we just get sent down there to see if we throw up or not. A good test is in the tiller flaps, at the end of the engine room there is a small hatch, behind this is the steering gear and tiller flaps, this area stinks of oil and grease and diesel. The worst place to go and always a guaranteed vomit inducing area. :lol:
