holiday to france tree pics

went to france earlier in the year near bordeaux stayed in a caravan/holiday home park and very nice it was

in the park pretty much every tree had previous work done to them and had very noticeable defects alot i presume from machinery when the park was formed.

it made for an interesting walk around

i was interested by the white "paint" like mold on some of the trees

im just learning about all these things any thoughts would be appreciated

(sorry the pictures aren't more interesting to the more advanced)

the "paint" in the first two pics would be some form of Lichen i think

The marks look on the same orientation to me lacking sunlight ?

couple more. saw alot with bore holes and dust

i'v not come across anything like it before it was on alot of the trees but lichen and lack of sunlight sounds good to me

Hmm it seemed more moldy but plausable I guess

Some of the damage on lower trunk looks like classic strimmer / mower damage caused while trees young.
