Hi, just wondered what the general opinion is on these so called flat pack tractors, and any other cheap n chearfull imports.

I bought one of the first Jinma 204 imports back in 1998 great little tractor did over 6000 hours before the 2 cyl engine gave up the ghost. I bought a MF 550 to replace it but should really have just replaced the engine as the MF 550 cannot do many of the things the Jinma could do. The 2cyl engine was replaced by 3 cyl engine and I have not heard a good report from anybody who has bought the newer tractors. They still make the 2 cyl but it does not comply with new Euro emissions standards so dealers cannot import although I am considering a direct import from china.

Not had a lot to do with them but was told they were the best of a bad bunch. Did help out fitting a loader to one though and what should have been a couple of hour job took all day with having to re-drill bolt holes etc.

Not had the pleasure myself , but spoke to a tractor mechanic who put one together a few years ago. He struggled with the instructions and had to fettle quite a few things to get it put together and consequently took way way longer than expected. Hadnt at that stage used it much to report on how good or bad it was in use.
