the "C" stands for made in China. they are made under licence there, and normally only intended for comunist block sale, alot coming on the market at the moment.

Only joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You, sir, are an arse! :laugh1: For a split second there my bloody heart stopped!! :blushing::lol:

"C" stands for "Comfort" - I guess that just means it's got a decomp valve and an elastostart starter handle!

Excellent, I'm a bit soft and love the decompression valve...

i have an almost brand new 576xp on arbtrader and that pulls the 24 inch bar with ease. check it out

I did... too dear for me!:001_tongue:

You won't regret it,i run mine on a 25'' and 18'' bar,and although it can be pretty lively on the shorter bar, to me its just about the perfect all round big saw.

That's what I was hoping for.... :thumbup1:

Do the bigger chassis Stihls have different bar mount patterns ton the smaller ones? I have an 18" bar lying around somewhere but I think it's for a smaller saw, will it fit, oiler holes line up etc? :001_huh:

The 'C' means it has a cat muffler, meaning it will be down on power and running hot. New standard muffler, retune, sorted.

Ms260-660 are the same bar-mount

Aha... less good then.... still, as you say, easily sorted....

Is the re-tune as easy as re-setting the screws to standard 460 settings or is there more to it than that...? Can I do it myself is what I'm asking.... :001_huh:

Hmmm, wonder if this bar I have is for my 260......
