yh they looked a bit rotten,

wel we have come to a conclusion me and dad are going to make a splitter (towable ) from scratch.

that way we can get a single valve (hate the 2 handed versions)

It should be a nice project :thumbup1:

the base engine is a kholer 7-8hp

we can get steel for £75.00

valve £100 (decent one)

wheels/tyres/stub axles £200.00

ram £100.00

luckily a few of dads customers are engineers so coupling & hydraulic pipes are going to be made from scratch:001_smile:

will upload pics when shes done!!

just remember the basics with your hydraulics and your homemade splitter will be fine, speed is governed by flow, ie litres, or gallons, per mim, the higher the no. the faster and power is pressure, psi, and ram diameter, so you want a large dia ram, 5" or 6" with a rod of 2" or larger(big dia rod=faster return stroke) and a pump with an output of 200-250 bar and a flow of 10gpm or greater

As far as i know you can import one yourself so long as you dont intend to sell it on. CE marking is to ensure products being sold in the EU meet the essential health and safety requirments which means anyone manufacturing or importing for resale has to ensure CE compliance.

If you do import a machine without a CE mark and then use it for work you will need to comply with PUWER. Without a CE mark you will need to be an expert in machine safety to ensure the machine is safe.

If you want a power split for private use then import one- its no different than building your own
