I do a fair bit of work in the US and the company i mainly work for have several of these machines and they are wicked! Great on all sorts of wood wether knotty or straight and mega quick compared to anything i have used here in the UK. Shame i dought they will get anywhere near getting a CE mark though. I would like one did look into a couple of years ago but the lack of CE put the mockers on that one:thumbdown:

Thank you for contacting us and your interest in the DR Log Splitters.

Unfortunately, the DR Factory does not arrange international shipping to the United Kingdom, as there is an international Sales/Distributor for certain DR Products that serves your area. However, because the DR Log Splitters are not CE Compliant, and therefore, do not comply with the requirements relevant to European standards, we are unable to ship our Log Splitters to you or to the international Sales/Distributor. At this time, DR Power Equipment has no plans to design and manufacture our Log Splitters to comply with the laws and regulations for the European Marketplace

gutted they looked a good tool, & reasonably priced

Have you asked the same question with Super Splitters. They originally manufactured the machine before DR copied it. I know there was a dutch importer for there 2 way splitter but I dont know whether this model is also available in the european market.

It wouldn't be beyond the wit of man surely for them to add a drop down arm with an interlock trigger in the end of it to the side of table... that would give the 2 handed operation needed for CE and a decent mechanical device to restrain logs rather than using your hand....

I reckon they look bloody marvellous and this is exactly the sort of log splitter you need for doing domestic work....

Incidentally, I reckon there's a greater chance of me losing a hand chopping kindling with a machete type thing that with one of those things..... bloody meddling Europeans....

Oh well...have to make do with the 20 second cycle of a vertical splitter.....or buy a nice heavy splitting maul and keep fit doing it:001_rolleyes:

Or buy a proper splitter - 20 sec isn't great. A good PTO vertical should do top to bottom and back up (so effectively 2m) in circa 10 sec. :thumbup1:
