I have an 88 and although it only comes out once in a while boy when he comes out to play he's an animal . Just don't get a solid nose bar as this will reduce the power / cutting performance . Needless to say makes ringing large trunks up a breeze . I also have an old ported 064 which is my favorite felling saw :001_smile:

i roll with an 084,25"bar for day to day ringin up and whatever sizebar needed for big stuff,it is the bad boy of saws, could never go back to 460/660 on a 25" after that

I have always used stihls for 15 years, but had a good deal on a new 395xp last year and can say it handles a 36" bar great and is far lighter and easy to handle than our 088.
