So me, alex and Maisy were trekking about in the new car on Saturday afternoon. 1.5 Clio diesel pulling just over 70 mpg which I will say is my first economical car I ever own......anyway whilst out and about in sunny Norfolk we decided to have a short wonder round sandringham.....not been there since I was about 8 years old, which at that age you never really appreciate what's going on around you, but now I have seen its beauty and will be going back around the woods for a more formal investigation......here are some photos I took on our 2 hour visit.....

Haven't been to Sandringham for a few years myself.

Good site to visit as I recall.

What species was the Phaeolus on Adam ?

By the looks of the needles, maybe Pine ?

.

Yes David it was pine:thumbup1:, I would say the limb had been detached from the tree several years some very remarkable pines there and equal broadleaf specimens to.....

Would love to take a tour around the house and garden grounds, by the look of this maybe some of the more older generation of trees in there....:thumbup1:

Stayed at the old head gardeners house a couple of times some years back.

Bit pricey, but a great base to use for exploring the estate & surrounding area.

Haha ha h h haaaa! A bit pricey? I think I will find the nearest travel lodge......:blushing::biggrin:

Not so bad as it sleeps 8/9 so shared. it brings the cost down to relatively reasonable.

My personal favourite on the royal estates is Alltnaguibhsaich Lodge at Balmoral, which sleeps 12.

Absolutely love it there. Would go every year if I could, and never bother with even thinking about foreign climes.
