Hi,

Please advise the current age and height the trees.

Why do you need to cut them down ?

With a small group of trees it might be much better to simply let these trees grow on for another 20 -30 years by which time the standing volume will have at least tripled and then buyers will come from as far afield as Scotland to fell and transport same for structural timbers.

If you decide to let them grow on for a bit longer then high prune the trees to provide a good clear stem.

Regards

Chilterns

Is that just on logs Jon, or is that starting price on chip? Don't get a lot of douglas round us but it's nice when we do.

Yeah sorry mate, sawlog. Based on the dbh the op gave, assumed some nice stuff in there. Chip much lower maybe late teens... That is a 2 month old s/west regional price tho, prob eurof or tilhill, might have to find out now!

Ta, was thinking you guys were getting top dollar on chip down there

If they were smaller TD, like sub 45cm, would the price go up? Generally round us Euro are calling anything over 45cm TD oversize and the money drops a chunk.
