Thunder, Lightning....!

I used to be concerned about lightning until I did a job for a boffin that made lightning and blew stuff up with it for a living.

 

Apparently we aren't at any more risk because of the hardware, it's more about the "ionised path", if the tree you are in is due to be hit the it's due to be hit, your presence is pretty much irrelevant to the event.

 

Still it's nice as an excuse to get out of the rain.

Call me a cynic but I'd rather not be up the tree and just waiting to find out if it got hit!! If I am going to get grilled my plan is on it being at a crem in about 50 years time if I've got anything to do with it:001_smile:

Made me chuckle and remember a time when me and an old boss was taking down some poplars after seeing a storm heading right for us we jumped into the truck then all hell broke lose a bolt of lightning hit a conifer right next to the poplar I was up......never seen a full grown man jump from the drivers seat on to my lap that quick.......:confused1: did I really say that?? Lmao
