Hydrostatic drive problem

Don't know if anyone will be able to help, but here's the problem:

I've got an Avant mini articulated loader on hire. Started off fine this morning, but as the day has gone on the reverse has got slower and slower, and now hardly moves backwards at all. Forward is not too bad, but not as fast as it was this morning.

The hire shop is shut until Monday morning, so was wondering if there is something I can check. The hydraulic oil tank is upto the level, and can't see any leaks. I'm sure the one hydraulic oil tank does all the hydraulics and the hydrostatic drive as all the pipes go into it.

Any ideas?

Cheers....Al

The controls and operation of the bucket is fine. It's just the forwar d and backwards drive that is sluggish. Backwards is virtually non existent now.

check that there are no service spools that are jammed, ie if it has a pin lock for the attachment which is still operating

Hi Rod

Couldn't see anything jammed. Cleaned out around the pedals and the actuating rod went in and out ok.

I'll try again in the morning when the oil is cold and see what happens.

Turns out there was a roll pin holding the linkage to the gearbox, and this had sheared, but still allowed a bit of movement to go forward but hardly any to go backwards.

Pick the machine up again later, so hopefully can get the job done tomorrow now.

Cheers for the replies chaps,

Al.
