I went round Cadwell on a Hornet 600 with a friend who raced proffesionally following and this was after a full day practising.

 

He said I was going round the corners at a third of the speed I should be and I thought I was really going some, when I looked at my tyres, they were melted but not on the very edges, there was STILL a new bit on the edge.

 

The first corner at Cadwell after the straight I was hitting at 140 mph and I was crapping myself at first

Works for me. The stress relief is awesome. Kawasaki ZX9R for me. Speed / Sports but with that extra bit of comfort for my dainty figure:001_tongue:lol

 

Enjoy road trips they are great. Bunch of us often hit the tarmac for the odd weekend. Olivers Mount in Scarborough is a favourite. Good racing and some awesome roads around there. Also get to go through Lincs on the way. The Fens are great. Sweeping wide roads with loads of visibility. Bikers heaven.

those bits on the edge are called chicken strips, the less new rubber u got showing the better ur getting ...... or ur just spendeing ur weekends roundabout surfing

The thing is I have got very little showing on my big bike the CB1300 I'm nearly to the edge, but the tyre for the track day on the hornet was brand new that day and I couldn't believe I wasn't getting it right over.

 

Thing is on the roads you can get a bike right over at slow speeds on tight bendy roads, on the track your talking high speeds to get it over

Very much so mate, the last sports bike i went on was over 10 years ago, the foot peg positions, steering and a lot else are going to take some time to get use to. Will be after a track day in the summer me thinks
