Stein Steel Core Flip Line...any good?

i use the petzl grillion with a new england steel core flip line. its a little stiffer to draw in but has done me well for 2 yrs. think a 3m new england s/cflipline is about £40, unscrew the grillion and fit it in bud. Also at work we use something like the stein rope grab and its to quick in the release for myself anyways

just to prove the point is so true iv done it

old yew with loads of old dead stub had a 441 blocking down with anchor on another stem hits my wire core that was 8 inch aboth my side Ds as it hung up on a stub (i no stupid i didnt check)

i was p***in of rain snd was rushing

easy to do but if that was my only anchor to the tree i would have bin f****d

 

so u saying i should not be climbing a tree

I think this just reiterates a point which isn't (IMO) talked about enough of double tying in when blocking down, i here stories of people just spiking up with just a steelcore when dismantling a pine etc, you wouldnt prune without a lanyard so why would you do a removal without a main life line
