Yeh, get where you're coming from Jon, the setting off in second gear may be the cause of my other td5 needing a clutch now!👎

Cheers 18, It does indeed sound like a slipping belt, a bad slip at that. I bought the truck and the "garage" who I bought it from, Real Landrover People, didn't even tell me that its been done, theres a box under the drivers seat, cant remember the name now but my mate confirmed they are a tuning firm, so if its been remapped then as you've said its possibly made the manifold warp. Another cost to fix or should we get a new one?

Cheers again

It is a cost to fix, yes but you wouldn't be able to sell like it. I'd say leave the box on it, you need a manifold anyway.

I'd get a modified one, not just standard. I think there's a few newer/HD versions on eBay & such but the guy doing mine next week does the modification himself.

If you want I can have a word about it next week and see how much they are to post to you. Where are you based?

Ok, was wondering if it was worth a trip to get it fitted by him if you were reasonably local. Guess its a bit of a ride out though!

I'll have a word with him next week for you as I have no idea on cost as I'm just getting him to do mine, not many folk around offer this service.

Well, it's official, after years of being surrounded by them in one shape or nother, I've no got no Landrovers at all.

Was a bit surreal watching my little old 90 riding away on the back of a lorry at 6am this morning, but not half as hard as I thought it was going to be which makes me think it was the right time.

I'd been putting it off for longer than I should have been but it just didn't do all that I needed it to any more - I've gone Japanese again (a delica of all things) and so far it's been going well, it was susrpising just how quickly I got used to being warm, dry and comfy
