that doesn't sound very clear to me mate:lol:

I'm not trying to knock you down mate but honestly this was taken from the dot glove website ( be all and end all!!!) I would just double check to be sure you don't get caught out!

Not that you're son will be grassing you in I hope:lol:

I'm sure he gets/ had his fair share from you above his wages!!

For an apprentice only! What hick says the minimum wage is right for a normal on the cards job it's whatever the mw is but for apprentices it's 2.50

Of course, if Huck is going to employ his lad for £2.50/hour, the poor blighter won't see any of it for several years until he's paid off his rent arrears.

I'd rather be a climber at £8.5/hour than a postie, though postie's must be as hard as nails as they never seem to be bothered with PPE when they walk through a site.:sneaky2:

To join us a person has to be of the right calibre. Qualifications aren't a good indicator. They help, though they are often rendered invalid by exposure to the real world of commercial arboriculture.

A reasonable starting wage would be £60/day for a rookie groundsman. A decent climber or team leader,(not necessarily a climber) should be on £100+/day. This is for FTE staff who are supplied with all the creature comforts, 20 days minimum holiday, (increasing by a day a year of service) + bank holidays, training, occassional days out to arb shows and team building events.

A person is measured by their peers and by objective performance criteria. If anyone fails to deliver a reasonable work output they are managed to improve or exit.

My boss hasn't given anyone a pay rise for 5yrs, and we are still loyal to him. We constantly have letters sent into us saying how impressed they are with the standard of our work one even stated and quote 10 out of 10. I can Definately say we are work proud . As for myself I have 5yrs experience and push my climbing and work skills every day, my foreman/climber is lazy it's me who goes up the tree everytime. Just to add salt to my ego ive found out I'm being paid the same as a grounds man who does very little and is known for it.
