Where do I stand on a warranty?

Did you buy this as an individual or a business? It makes a huge difference. If it was a b2b sale you will not get any consumer rights as such although you can argue other matters through the courts etc.

I agree, with a smaller outfit they have less to loose by resisting, a main dealer is a different beast altogether.

Well they've emailed offering the following free

STC4299 - Crankshaft Bearing

STC1426 - Big end bearing

ERR1782 - Stem oil seals

STC1961 - Cam shaft bearing

LKJ500020 - Inlet manifold gasket

ERR6733 - Exhuast manifold gasket

LVB500030 - Head gaske

 

My main concern is still the block here's some pics of sshallow scoring on them

has it had new liners fitted as these engines are notorious for cracked liners

Update is its gone back, i said I either wanted a replacement, a refund or for them to pay to send it off, they said they'll refund, have to say, presuming they refund, I'm impressed with the service.

 

The better news is I've now got a tophat 4.6 turner engine with 17,000 miles on it to go in

Refund is the right solution. Nice one
